Data stored forever in Infinite Campus includes: medical, psychiatric, counseling, discipline, minor discipline, and more!
Numerous vendors have unlimited access to your child's data!
Parents do NOT have easy access to most Infinite Campus data.
Data on Nevada children is shared with multiple third party vendors without parental knowledge or consent.

Parents typically only see a sliver of IC data STORED FOREVER about their children.*
One of the vendors Infinite Campus shares Nevada student data with, Pearson aimsweb, had a massive data breach where personal data on current and former Nevada students was placed for sale on the dark web. No one really knows who may have bought the data and how this may this affect the future of Nevada students. What we do know is that many Nevada school districts continue to pay Pearson handsomely for their "services!"
A couple years after the data breach the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission fined Pearson Education $1,000,000 for "misleading investors" about the data breach. We at Protect Nevada Children are very concerned about the future of Nevada students because districts are misleading and/or simply not educating parents on the implications of the Infinite Campus data base!
ALL PARENTS SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS... WCSD staff can't answer Trustee Dr. Nicolet's question: "Do parents provide permission for 'vendors' to have access to their children's information?"
The answer is, NO. The state of Nevada and local school districts treat the most massive data base ever created on children, Infinite Campus, like student data belongs to them, not the students and/or parents! Note - There was a bill during a Nevada Legislative Session that would have corrected this, but it did not pass. At the 43:30 mark in the video below staff said, "Again they (Communities in Schools) do not keep their own system, they access our system..." This was right before a critical vote. A year later we found out CIS does maintain their own database on our students.
The WCSD Counselor that recently got arrested on child pornography charges had unlimited access to the Counseling Tab in Infinite Campus, but parents don't have easy access to the Counseling Tab.
Principals also do NOT have access to the Counseling Tab, and it appears most parents don't know the tab exists. We believe this is the tab used by school psychologists, counselors, social workers, and possibly others to enter subjective psychological information about students. Data stored in Infinite Campus is never delete.

The question was not answered. Data entered in the Infinite Campus, including the Counseling Tab, is NEVER deleted. The good news, is the board president said there would be a staff presentation about Infinite Campus at an upcoming WCSD board meeting.
